Kenneth Ray

Kenneth Ray, 90, of Cadiz, died Thursday, October 4, 2012 at his home. He was born December 22, 1921 in Moundsville, WV a son of the late Friend and Gertrude Hill. Mr. Ray was a member of the Cadiz Church of God, the Hopedale VFW and the UMWA. He was a retired coal miner having worked at the Rose Valley Mine near Hopedale and the Loveridge Mine in Fairview, WV. He was an Army Veteran and Pearl Harbor Survivor. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by two sons, Gary Weaver and Thomas Ray; four brothers, Dale, Jack, Robert and Junior Hill; and a sister, Betty Gunther. Surviving are his wife, Mary Davia Ray; four sons, William (Ruth Ann) Weaver of Cadiz, Kenneth (Toni) Ray of Hundred, WV, Rick Ray and Jeff (Tina) Ray, all of Cadiz; four daughters, Cheryl (John) Ridgeway of Cadiz, Judy (John) Talbot of Navarre, Jenny (Wayne) Schupbach of New Martinsville, WV, and Mary (Fred) Kelley of Scio; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great great grandchildren; two brothers, Jerry (Sylvia) Hill of Reading, PA and Terry (Carol) Hill of Adena; and a sister, Nancy Spicer of Hanover, PA. Friends may call Sunday, 1-5 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Craig Haney officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove. Military Honors will be performed by the Hopedale VFW. Online condolences may be made at www.clark-kirkland.com.
