Joseph Kovacik

Joseph Kovacik, 89, of Cadiz, died Wednesday, November 07, 2012 at his home. He was born November 3, 1923 in Bannock, OH, a son of the late Joseph and Julia Lukacena Kovacik. Joe was a member of the First Church of Christ of Cadiz and often attended the Hopedale Church of Christ. He was a retired Coal Miner at the Oak Park Mine in Cadiz, and was a Marine Veteran of WW II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Kovacik; a granddaughter, Christie Sickle; three brothers and five sisters. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Raber Kovacik; a son Paul Kovacik of Olathe, KS; a daughter, Martha Sedgmer of Cadiz; five grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and a brother, George Kovacik of Hanover Ridge, Cadiz. Friends may call Saturday, November 10 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 noon at the First Church of Christ, 139 N. Main St., Cadiz. Paul Giffin will officiate. Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice, 3743 Boettler Oaks Dr., Suite E, Uniontown/Green, OH 44685.
