George Fleagane

George Fleagane, 89, Belmont, Ohio, formerly of Cadiz, died Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at his home in Belmont. Mr. Fleagane lived most of his adult life in Cadiz and Tarpon Springs, Florida. He was born April 6, 1921 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania and is the second of seven children to the late John Fleagane and the late (Helen) Irene MacDonald Fleagane. Mr. Fleagane was a Christian by faith and a member of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Life Giving Foundation in Martins Ferry. He was a retired executive of the R&F Coal Company in Cadiz. He was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of WW II. Among the many charities Mr. Fleagane supported were: Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz; Pittsburgh Children's Hospital, Pittsburgh; and the Salvation Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Pauline Magoulis Fleagane in 1976; a brother, Robert; two sisters, Fern Fleagane and Jane Fleagane Jodie. Surviving are two brothers: James Fleagane and his wife Norma of Wheeling and Nick Fleagane and his wife Candace of Morristown; one sister, Audrey Fleagane Weinburg, Mt. Vernon, Pennsylvania; a very special friend, Virginia Titonis of Bellaire; and many nieces and nephews; grand nieces and grand nephews. Family will receive friends Friday, August 20 from 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, 172 South Main Street, Cadiz where funeral service will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with Fr. Eugen Rosu officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
