Ernest "Ed" Yoho, 84, of Cadiz, died Saturday, September 10, 2011 at his home. He was born February 18, 1927 in New Athens, Ohio, a son of the late Ernest and Bessie Thornton Yoho. Ed was a member of the Scott United Methodist Church in Cadiz, a former Fire Chief of the Cadiz VFD, a former Captain of the Cadiz E-Squad, and a member of the Cadiz Lions Club. He was a retired coal miner, having been Foreman at Consolidation Coal Company #19 and #5 Mines and was an Army Veteran of WW II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Friend, Jerome and James Yoho and five sisters, Beatrice Walters, Lucy Matthews, Anna Donley, Madeline Swann and JoAnn Cresta. Surviving are his wife Ellen Palumbo Yoho; three sons, Mark (Kathy) Yoho of Hopedale, Michael Yoho of Cadiz and Jeffery (Kim) Yoho of St. Clairsville; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Monday, 5-8 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, 172 S. Main St., Cadiz. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. Scott United Methodist Church, 817 E. Market St., Cadiz, with Rev. Richard Hasley officiating. Burial will follow at Longview Cemetery. Military honors will be performed by the Cadiz American Legion.
